Imagining the Mediterranean House at Museo ICO

On view through 12 January 2020 at ICO Museum in Madrid is ‘Imagining the Mediterranean House: Italy and Spain in the 50s,’ an exhibition curated by Antonio Pizza that focuses on a historic moment when, in architecture, the two countries forged vigorous ties and engaged in vibrant exchanges. It presents the work of prestigious Italian and Spanish architects – Francisco Juan Barba Corsini, Bassó & Gili, Bohigas & Martorell, Antonio Bonet Castellana, Coderch & Valls, Correa & Milá, Luigi Cosenza, Carlos de Miguel, Harnden & Bombelli, Gio Ponti, Josep Pratmarsó, Bernard Rudofsky, and Josep M. Sostres – through images by renowned photographers like Giorgio Casali, Francesc Català-Roca, and Oriol Maspons, to name three, along with sketches, drawings, and publications.

Material from the archives of José Antonio Coderch will be displayed for the first time since his heirs donated them to the Reina Sofía Museum.

There will be free-of-charge guided tours of the exhibition on Fridays (18:30), Saturdays (12:30 and 18:30), and Sundays (12:30).
