‘Big Bang Building Light!’ is an artistic intervention by Mario Pasqualotto that redraws the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona with lines of light. Visitors are welcome, for free, until 16 February (except for 13 February), from 18:30 to 20:00.
Born in 1953, the Barcelona artist Mario Pasqualotto highlights the building’s main architectural elements with lines and points of light. The play of lights and colors strikes a dialogue with the pavilion through an alternation of sequences of lighting and light silence, in the process sculpting different environments.
The program of artistic interventions on the Barcelona Pavilion began in 1999 with Jeff Wall. The list of participants includes Enric Miralles, Dennis Adams, Antoni Muntadas, Iñaki Bonillas, SANAA Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa, Ai Weiwei, Andrés Jaque, and Anna & Eugeni Bach.
